Refund policy

We want you to be happy with your Scribble & Shine order. For cancellations, returns or help with a problem, email hello@scribbleandshine.co.uk. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory consumer rights.

Change-of-mind cancellations

You can cancel your order without giving a reason before delivery, or by notifying us within 14 days after the day you receive your goods. If items from one order arrive separately, this period ends 14 days after the day you receive the last item.

Email us a clear statement that you wish to cancel and include your order number if available. You do not need to use a particular form or wait for our approval to exercise your statutory cancellation rights.

After notifying us, you have a further 14 days to send the goods back. Please email us first for return instructions, including your order number if available. We will explain how and where to return your item. You do not need discretionary approval to exercise your statutory cancellation rights. Our correspondence address is not a parcel returns address.

Original condition and used products

For a full change-of-mind refund, products should be in their original, unused condition, apart from handling reasonably necessary to inspect their nature, characteristics and functioning, as you could in a shop.

Our learning journals are designed for writing, colouring, painting and completing activities. Writing in, colouring or painting in a non-faulty journal, or completing its activities, goes beyond normal inspection. Substantial use of dot markers beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect them may also reduce their value.

Where permitted by UK consumer law, we may deduct the actual reduction in value caused by excessive handling or use. A justified deduction may be up to the full purchase price of the affected product if its value has been completely lost. We assess this individually and explain any deduction. This is not an automatic rejection of your statutory cancellation rights and is not a restocking or cancellation fee.

Preorder cancellations

Journal preorders may be cancelled before dispatch. Starting production does not automatically remove your statutory cancellation rights. Your applicable post-delivery cancellation rights and faulty-product rights remain unchanged.

Faulty, damaged or misdescribed products

If a product is faulty, arrives damaged or is not as described, email hello@scribbleandshine.co.uk with your order number or other proof of purchase and a description of the problem. Photographs of the item and packaging can help us investigate where available, but are not a condition of your statutory rights.

Using a product does not automatically remove your faulty-product rights. These rights do not cover damage caused by misuse or ordinary wear and tear.

You normally have a short-term right to reject faulty or misdescribed goods within 30 days of delivery for a refund. After that, you may be entitled to a repair or replacement and, where the law provides, a price reduction or refund. We will arrange the remedy you are entitled to and cover necessary reasonable return postage. Contact us so we can arrange return or collection instructions.

Return postage

For ordinary change-of-mind returns, you are responsible for the direct cost of return postage. For faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods, we cover necessary reasonable return costs in accordance with your statutory rights.

Refunds

Refunds are made without undue delay to the original payment method, unless you expressly agree otherwise, and without a refund fee.

If you cancel before dispatch, we will refund you within 14 days of being informed of your cancellation. Where goods have been supplied and we have not offered to collect them, we may withhold the cancellation refund until we receive the goods back or evidence that you have sent them back, whichever is earlier. We will refund within 14 days of that earlier event. If we offer to collect the goods, the applicable deadline is 14 days after we are informed of your cancellation.

For a full qualifying cancellation, we also refund the original standard outbound delivery charge where one was paid. Any deduction for excessive handling applies to the affected goods, not that standard delivery refund. We do not refund any extra cost above standard delivery that you chose to pay.

Where you exercise a statutory right to reject faulty goods, the refund will be made without undue delay and within 14 days of our agreeing that you are entitled to it. Any refund must meet the statutory requirements applicable to your claim.
